State-Division (Bago Division)
Bago is the capital city of Bago (Pegu) division. It has an area of 38948 sq-km, and the population is over 5 millions.

An ancient capital of the Mon Kingdom (15th Century), Bago is situated only 80 km from Yangon. It is about 2 hours drive from Yangon across the panoramic countryside.

The King Bayin-naung, known as the Napoleon of Myanmar resided his Kan-baw-za-tharddy palace in Bago, but it was damaged by Rakhaine King after the expired of King Ba-yin-naung. The re-construction of the palace based on it's original design has been totally reconstructed on its' original site. The new International Airport Project of Bago is being under-construction.

For the Eco-tourism, Bago division gives the Sein-ye, and Pokyar forest Elephant camps, and Mo-ywin-gyi bird watching sites.
